All of the mentors and trainers were really helpful and great at what they do. I would really like to have another opportunity to go on another course with them again
Year 10 Pupil, Albany SchoolThis course was thought provoking and intriguing. It helped me improve in certain situations I am normally uncomfortable in
Year 10 Pupil, Albany School"I would like to thank you for your support of the City GATES programme this year. Your contribution to the Progression Academy workshops has made a real difference and has encouraged many schools, colleges and academies to participate in the programme..."
Alf Brown, Programme Lead, City GATES, Cfbt"It is clear that Penny is highly skilled and experienced in supporting adults in accessing training and employment. She communicates effectively with parents/carers and demonstrates strong empathy towards families with young children who may face multiple barriers to entering work or training. As well as working effectively with individuals, Penny also has excellent group facilitation skills. She has developed a very strong Parents' Forum for us and has been extremely successful in encouraging members to contribute to Children's Centre activities by volunteering to run events..."
Tracy Gregory, Centre Manager, Chrisp Street Children's Centre"I have had the good fortune to work with Penny on two City GATES Gifted & Talented workshops with Year 10 and Year 12 students. To say she is inspiring is an understatement. Penny makes it clear from the start that she is not a teacher but the result is students responding brilliantly to her openness and they like the way she adopts a mature approach with the group...
Qualities:
- An ability to make students feel at ease – helped by the fact she is not from a ‘teaching’ background.
- She makes students feel they are in a ‘safe’ environment – students encouraged to speak out and not feel threatened or embarrassed. The students have respect for Penny and other members of the group.
- Penny sets clear objectives and students know what is expected of them.
- Penny constantly challenges and uses probing questioning to encourage students to push the boundaries in tasks.
- Penny has an ability to notice quickly the dynamics of the group and is able to help students individually realise ‘where they are now’ in terms of their development and then think about ‘where they would like to be’ and how to get there!
Finally, Penny as a trainer is genuinely interested in the students and passionate about her work. As I teacher I greatly admired the pace at which she worked but the quality of work she gained from the students in her group and her motivational techniques. At the end of one two day work shop one student was reduced to tears thanking Penny for the course. The student was overwhelmed by what she had achieved – Penny had helped her realise her potential, and I do believe Penny had achieved a life changing experience with this student. Penny had installed confidence and inspired this student to go on and make something of her life.
For me as an experienced teacher I learnt it is never too late to learn!
I wholly recommend Penny to work with the young people in any learning establishment."Lisa Wilson
Gifted & Talented Lead Teacher
The Albany – A Business & Enterprise College"Penny has been working as an associate at Crelos for nearly a year now and has proven to be a real asset to the company. She is highly professional and effective in her delivery of training programmes and relates well to the delegates to get the very best results. She comes highly recommended and I would not hesitate in putting her in front of any of my clients"
Dan Redland, Crelos"Penny is a warm person who cares very much about delivering her work with professionalism and excellent preparation. She relates well to people of all ages and is very good to work with."
Deborah Vitai, Director Deborah Vitai Limited."I like the fact that everything we did could be related to real life in one way or another and that we were talking about everyday news and situations to apply the skills to our personal situations"
Student, The Albany"It was a great way to learn new skills whilst still having fun!"
Student, Plashet School"I like how the course helped me understand who I am in easy steps and information"
Student, Plashet School"I thought it was going to be boring but it wasn't. I like how the trainer set things out so they were interesting and easy to remember."
Student, The Albany"I'm looking forward to the next course as I am now feeling more confident, especially when it comes to making presentations in front of other people."
Student, Plashet SchoolI am writing to thank you for all the hard work put into compiling the Coping with Stress course for our staff at Green Light Resourcing. You were a pleasure to work with and the turnaround time on producing a course that was not 'off the shelf' was incredible.
The feedback from our staff was excellent. The trainer was obviously extremely well informed on the subject and had an excellent training style. They all commented on her ability to make a sometimes dry subject fun and interesting.
We are looking to run more staff training in the near future and will be in contact soon to discuss things further.
